Today’s Group has signed up to Big Deals Local (bigDL), an app that flags up retail promotions in stores local to consumers, enabling symbol members to attract more shoppers.

The technology will also provide symbol outlets with the capability to accept electronic coupons that will also be available exclusively to consumers on the Big DL app.

Group retail director John Kinney (pictured) said: “Promotional leaflets are really important, but there’s a whole customer demographic that doesn’t respond to leaflets. This will put retailers’ offers straight into the hands of consumers, driving sales and footfall.”
