Bestway announces winner of exclusive Walkers competition

Ashad Alam, who owns Al Halal supermarkets in Birmingham, has won a Renault Kangoo van in a competition run by Bestway and PepsiCo.

The van was presented to Alam (pictured) along with a year’s free insurance and £100 worth of credit to spend on Walkers products at Bestway’s Birmingham depot.

Haleem Sadiq, trading controller for impulse at Bestway, said: “We are always encouraging suppliers to partner with us and activate campaigns and promotions which put the customer at the heart and offer genuine rewards to help customers grow their food and drinks business. This competition supported by PepsiCo, was a great example of just this.

“Over 30,000 customers were eligible to win the Renault Kangoo van, having bought any three cases of Walkers crisps between June and August this year. Mr Alam, who owns multiple convenience stores in Birmingham, was selected at random to win.”

Sadiq added: “The Walkers competition was especially relevant given the good weather and summer of celebration this year, which resulted in a double-digit increase in revenue at Bestway on crisps and snacks, with consumers shopping locally.”

Matt Goddard, wholesale trading director at PepsiCo, comments: “At PepsiCo, we are committed to supporting our retail customers to maximise their snacking sales and we are delighted to have seen such great engagement with this exclusive competition run with one of our key wholesale partners, Bestway.”
