Blakemore Foodservice wins £9m worth of contracts
Blakemore Foodservice has been awarded five new contracts worth a total of £9 million.
The contracts, which will be serviced from the wholesaler’s 80,000 sq ft site in Wakefield, will add over 400 new accounts across education, care homes, leisure facilities and other council-run services.
Matt Johnson, trade sector manager, said: “The wins demonstrate our ongoing commitment to supporting education catering. Our knowledge of the sector is exceptional and our team’s experience and understanding are outstanding, enabling us to deliver quality concepts and solutions through dedicated client support.”
Blakemore Foodservice is an approved ‘Food for Life’ supplier and holds accreditations spanning quality management, health and safety, energy and environmental management.
In addition, AF Blakemore’s ongoing Responsible Business Programme commits to ensuring sustainable futures across the fleet, environmental practices, and initiatives like the Branching Out programme that support the company’s neighbourhoods.
Johnson explained: “The Branching Out programme was created to help bridge the gap between education and employment. It is estimated that 60% of young people are leaving school without the necessary skills to enter the world of work. The scheme aims to meet the skills gaps of the future.”
