Dunsters Farm appoints Gary Lumby as its first non-exec director
Dunsters Farm has appointed Gary Lumby MBE as its first non-executive director.
Based in Bury, Dunsters Farm is a third-generation family-run foodservice business that has been delivering food and drinks across the North of England for nearly 60 years. It is a member of Confex.
Lumby (pictured) will be working with Dunsters Farm on a strategic level, helping to navigate developments such as new range additions and expansion in its B2C offering.
Between 2009 and 2011, Lumby was director of small business banking at Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks and he also previously held senior retail and small & medium-sized enterprises (SME) business banking roles at Barclays.
Utilising his experience in the finance sector and years of advisory support with SMEs, in the last decade Lumby has provided consultancy for a large number of businesses across the UK. In 2012, he formalised his consultancy with the launch of Focus On Success Ltd, providing non-executive directors and business coaching to SMEs across the UK.
In 2008, Lumby was awarded an MBE for services to the finance industry. He is a mentor on the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Programme, and offers his time as a coach on the WCYA Peer Networks Programme.
Commenting on his appointment at Dunsters, managing director Hannah Barlow said: “We are delighted to have secured the services of such an experienced non-executive director and we are certain that with Gary’s help we can exceed our already ambitious growth plans.”
