Mevalco brings Rooftop Smokehouse selection to the UK

Mevalco is bringing the creations of Rooftop Smokehouse to chefs and restaurants across the UK.

Rooftop Smokehouse is described as one of Spain’s most exciting producers, crafting an outstanding range of smoked products that combine tradition, innovation, and a deep respect for ingredients.

Highlights of the Mevalco range include Smoked Butter, Lightly Smoked Pork Belly (Chicharrón), Smoked Coquelets and Smoked Pastrami.

Aligned with Mevalco’s own values, at the heart of Rooftop Smokehouse is a firm commitment to sustainability. Every ingredient is ethically and sustainably sourced, with partnerships that support local farmers, fishermen and artisans.

The smoking techniques are said to be equally innovative – designed to enhance flavour while preserving the natural integrity of each ingredient and minimising waste and energy use.

David Menéndez, managing director of Mevalco, commented: “Rooftop Smokehouse’s passion for carefully matching each ingredient with the right smoking technique is infectious. The craftsmanship is a gastronomic jewel, and we are delighted to share their remarkable creations with UK chefs.”

Mevalco has also announced that it is now importing the best Txuleton it has ever sourced, from long-standing supplier Vacuum. Txuleton – the Spanish name for large, bone-in rib steaks – is one of Spain’s most iconic foods, particularly renowned in Asturias, close to Mevalco MD David Menéndez’s home.

Another addition to Mevalco’s offering is La Chipotlera slow-crafted sauces. Founder Luis grows his own chilli peppers and uses them to create a range of sauces and salsas – some of which take up to three years to mature.
