21st trade show for Pioneer Foodservice

Pioneer Foodservice’s catering trade show in Carlisle on 24-25 February is being supported by more than 60 regional and national suppliers, including Heinz, Nestlé and Whitby Scampi.

Along with standard foods, the Carlisle-based operator, which claims to be an innovator, will be featuring vegan and gluten-free products as well as food packaging made from plants. Also on display will be many lines made in the north.

‘Substantial discounts’ will be offered to those making purchases at the show.

Manager director Graham Jenkins said: “This is our 21st show and we think it’s going to be the best so far.”

Visitor numbers are expected to exceed last year’s 1,300.

Pioneer Foodservice recently picked up regional and national awards for its ongoing support and promotion of local entrepreneurs and business owners.

Jenkins added: “As well as sampling grocery, chilled and frozen goods, visitors will be able to try our own Lakeland beef and a variety of sausages, including our famous Cumberland sausages.”

The company, which is a member of Caterforce, has depots in Workington and Gateshead, as well as Carlisle. Deliveries are made across the south-west of Scotland, Cumbria and north-east England.

The family-run concern has a staff of more than 375.
