The Uxbridge-based wholesaler is a certified Carbon Neutral company, and its stated aim is to become carbon negative. A company spokesperson commented: “Huge congratulations to the team for their passion and commitment to reducing our environmental impact!”

Confex’s annual awards dinner took place after its first-ever Christmas Trade Fair, which was held at Stratford Racecourse and attended by more than 300 participants.

The group’s director Jess Douglas said: “It was fantastic to get everyone back together again and we appreciate the members and suppliers taking time out of their extremely busy businesses to attend. It reminded us all of the importance of human interaction in our industry.”

In addition to Green Wholesaler of the Year, Confex announced the winners of its supplier awards. Lucozade Ribena Suntory and Joe Kinsey won Retail Supplier Of The Year; The Kraft Heinz Company and Gunes Muftuoglu took the title of Foodservice Supplier Of The Year; and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners and Jack Hadland was named Digital Supplier Of The Year.
