Two more wholesalers join Confex buying group
Confex has confirmed that Holland Bazaar and Randalls have joined the group, taking the total number of new recruits this year to 15.
Holland Bazaar is a £100 million turnover wholesaler with depots in Edmonton and Croydon servicing the fast-food/ethnic community with frozen, chilled, ambient, soft drinks and confectionery. Fresh fruit & veg accounts for 30% of its sales. Holland Bazaar’s future plans involve depot expansion and range extensions to include more retail packs.
Mert Ucar, managing director of Holland Bazaar, said that the offer from Confex is better suited to the future needs of his business than the package from Unitas, of which the company was previously a member.
Randalls was established in 1823 in Jersey. It has undergone many changes over the years, building a successful wholesale business and pub operation consisting of restaurants, hotels and night clubs.
Commenting on the new recruits, Confex MD Tom Gittins said: “Confex are extremely excited about both Holland Bazaar and Randalls joining us. We look forward to helping them continue their business growth, along with the other 13 wholesale members we have welcomed during 2020.”
Confex chairman Martin Williams added: “Confex is becoming the natural home for forward-thinking wholesalers. They can take advantage of our terms, promotions, marketing, events and our new own-brand range called Core which will have 300 SKUs come January.
“We remain open to discuss membership with any progressive wholesaler who wants to be a part of such a dynamic and changing group.”
