Sysco aids Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

Brakes Group owner Sysco Corporation, of Houston, Texas, is donating ‘at least’ $1 million to the flood emergency appeal following the impact of Hurricane Harvey. Half of this sum has already been handed to the American Red Cross.

The delivered wholesale company’s CEO Bill DeLaney told Cash & Carry Management: “We have a long history of providing aid in times of disasters, helping communities prepare and recover by delivering food, water and emergency supplies. One of Sysco’s top priorities continues to be making deliveries to critical customer locations.”

In addition to the main appeal, the company is  directly helping clients hit by the severe weather in Houston and along the Texas Gulf Coast. More than 10% of its 3,000 Houston area customers have been affected by the hurricane.
