Parfetts has appointed Steve Moore as head of retail.
Moore (pictured) previously spent 16 years at Costcutter, most recently as regional business director responsible for sales and recruitment. Before that he was a business development manager at Booker, and he also previously worked at Scottish & Newcastle in a retail development role.
In his new job, Moore will manage a team of 25 business development managers across the North and Midlands. Commenting on his new position, he said: “I’ve admired Parfetts’ focus on the customer and seen the growth it has driven. I’m pleased to be joining the team and look forward to working with our retailers to help them develop their businesses.”
Guy Swindell, joint managing director (designate) of Parfetts, commented: “Steve brings a wealth of experience to the role, and he will add significant value to our continued development and the operations of our retailers.”
Parfetts is forecast to hit sales of over £550 million by the end of June 2021 after achieving £480 million the preivous year. The company has grown by 85% in the last five years. It currently has 4,000 retail club members and over 800 fascia stores, and is on target to hit 1,000 Go Local Symbol group members by the end of next year.
Parfetts’ current strategy is to extend its customer reach through delivery rather than acquisition, using four key depots as 24-hour delivered hubs. These are in Middlesbrough, Sheffield, Somercotes and Aintree.
