Musgrave spends 2.2 million euros on Dublin C&C upgrade

Musgrave Wholesale Partners is spending 2.2 million euros to upgrade its MarketPlace cash & carry in Ballymun, Dublin.

The work – intended for completion by October – will result in an extra 20% of space, bringing the total sales area to 75,000 sq ft.

There will be additional sections for meat, cheese, fish and fruit & veg, and a theatre to showcase new products and give advice on menu solutions.

Managing director Noel Keeley said that hundreds of new products would be available, which customers could purchase online as well as in the building.

He added: “The business of food and drink is constantly evolving and it is important we continue to innovate and respond to customers’ needs. This significant investment will allow us deliver the cash & carry of the future.

“As well as providing our customers with the products they want, we will be able to add value through our experts on hand in the store.”

The Ballymun branch is one of 10 MarketPlace C&Cs operated by Musgrave – seven in the south of Ireland and three in the north.
