LWC in exclusive distribution agreement with Carlos Serres

LWC Drinks has secured the exclusive on-trade distribution rights for six wines from Carlos Serres, one of Rioja’s most historic producers.

LWC will now distribute Carlos Serres White Rioja, Rosé Rioja, Organic Tempranillo, Rioja Crianza, Rioja Reserva, and Rioja Gran Reserva.

Founded by Charles (Carlos) Serres upon his arrival from Bordeaux in 1896, Carlos Serres is a traditional Rioja winery. It was created in Haro’s historic Railway Station District, an area with the largest concentration of centenary wineries in the world, and today the Vivanco family continues to drive the legacy and heritage of its founder across the world.

Frances Bentley, wine buyer for LWC, commented: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome the magnificent Carlos Serres to the LWC wine portfolio.

“Steeped in history and tradition, Carlos Serres is a real powerhouse and icon of Rioja. With over 125 years in winemaking, this is a producer that carries great influence over the winemaking world.

“From the offset, there was a lot that drew us to Carlos Serres. From its incredible wines and reputation to its copious international awards, stand-out labels and core family values, so many boxes were ticked. However, one thing that really shone through for us was its sustainability credentials. The winery’s commitment to innovation, eco-friendly viticulture, and organically farmed vineyards is clear to see in the Rioja Alta subregion. Carlos Serres incorporates sustainability into all areas of production, and this is something LWC holds in high esteem.”

LWC is planning a series of tradeshows and tasting events for 2025, where the wines will be on show.
