LWC Drinks acquires Essex-based drinks distributor Hills Prospect
LWC Drinks has acquired Hills Prospect, an independent drinks distributor based in Romford, Essex.
Marking the latest step in LWC’s mission to provide its customers with the best service possible, wherever they are, the partnership will see the two businesses join forces to leverage their individual strengths and build an even stronger service proposition for customers in London and the South East.
Hills Prospect will continue to operate under its own name and will see no interruption to the service it offers its customers, who will now have access to LWC’s exclusive Signature wine and brand ranges. Founded in 1977, Hills Drinks Distributors merged with Prospect Distributors in 2009 to form Hills Prospect.
Ebrahim Mukadam, Managing Director at LWC Drinks, commented: “We are delighted to be welcoming the fantastic Hills Prospect to the LWC family. Having built up an incredible reputation for service and knowledge over the last 40 years, Hills Prospect have garnered a real stronghold over the London market.
“We see this partnership as a superb opportunity for both businesses to combine skills, shared knowledge, network and strength to offer customers in the region a service like no other, and we can’t wait to get started.
“I very much look forward to getting to know all of the wonderfully skilled and passionate teams at Hills Prospect in due course.”
Trevor Bowers, sales director at Hills Prospect, added: “We at Hills Prospect are truly excited to join the LWC family of distributors. Currently the largest independent drinks distributor in London and the South East, we are proud to be joining the largest independent drinks wholesaler. Our service and reputation will strengthen and grow with the immense opportunity of being part of a progressive national company. We remain absolutely committed to offering our loyal customers the high levels of service they are accustomed to from all the departments at Hills Prospect.”
The acquisition of Hills Prospect means that LWC now has 18 sites in the UK and follows the recent openings of two new LWC depots to serve London and the South East – Aylesbury and Andover – and a third in the North, at Doncaster.
This growth strategy enabled LWC to achieve a turnover of over £500 million in its last financial year.
