Lomond extends food-to-go options

Lomond – The Wholesale Food Company has introduced more food-to-go options.

Director Barbara Henderson said: “Whether it’s a bacon roll for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch or something sweet and indulgent mid-afternoon, we know food-to-go is a huge opportunity for retailers and foodservice operators.

“However, competition is fierce and it’s essential that they stand out with high-quality, affordable options that can rival even the most sophisticated high-street operator.”

The new fully-cooked hot range comprises  meals and hot snacks for grazing.
Breakfast items from the Glasgow wholesaler include sausage and bacon rolls, breakfast pizza twists and Scottish muffins with sausage patties and egg.

For lunch there are such choices as cooked and breaded or steamed chicken, farm-to-fork burger patties (raw or cooked) and a range of pulled meats (beef, pork, ham and chicken).
There are also mini ribs in BBQ and Chinese flavours, Mesquite buffalo wings and lightly dusted wings in Frank’s hot sauce. A ‘side kick’ selection includes fiery mozzarella balls, jalapeño cheese poppers, chilli chicken fries and flamin’ chicken chunks.

Within the ‘prepared-for-later’ range are lamb shank, rack of ribs and chilli brisket.

“The new hot food is backed up with quality point of sale as well as unique servery equipment options, such as our amazing wing & rib cart,” said Henderson.
