Jon Burton retires from Confex after 30 years in the wholesale trade

Confex has announced the retirement of Jon Burton, its business development director, on 31 March.

Burton has worked in the wholesale industry for over 30 years, 17 of which were spent at Landmark and Unitas. He joined Confex 16 months ago.

Confex managing director Tom Gittins commented: “We wish Jon Burton well in his retirement and thank him for all his hard work at Confex.

“Jon has supported our members and suppliers impeccably and will be much missed by the head office team and his industry peers.

“We wish him the best of luck with his retirement and I personally look forward to playing a round or two of golf with him.”

Burton’s replacement is Kirsty Winkel, who will join the group on 1 March. She previously worked at Landmark for 10 years and is currently non-food buyer at Dhamecha.

“I am certain Kirsty will work well within a highly efficient head office team who remain focused on being a collaborative member-led organisation,” said Gittins.
