JJ to open a new branch in Wimbledon in the New Year

JJ Foodservice is to open a new depot in Wimbledon – its 12th branch – in January 2024.

The site includes a 33,965 sq ft warehouse and 3,950 sq ft of modern offices, and the opening will create more than 50 new jobs.

Kaan Hendekli, chief operating officer, said: “Wimbledon’s vibrant and diverse community, coupled with its rich cultural heritage, makes it an ideal location for our expansion into London. The area is known for its thriving local businesses, which presents exciting growth opportunities for us and our supplier partners.”

The Wimbledon site has electric vehicle (EV) charging points and PV roof-mounted panels for solar energy, and has achieved an ‘excellent’ rating for the Environmental Performance Certificate (EPC) and the Green Building Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM).

JJ is actively seeking to expand its presence in London and is ready to make future investments. “We are ready to grow – if you have a freehold site with warehouse space ranging from 20,000 to 50,000 sq ft, we would love to hear from you,” said Hendekli.
