JJ launches online service for restaurants and takeaways
Central Dish is a new website launched by JJ Food Service to draw consumers to restaurants and takeaways.
It allows diners to search for meals in their area based on ratings and images taken by other diners. Orders can be placed online.
Rif Kiamil, who heads Central Dish and is the son of JJ’s CEO Mustafa Kiamil, said: “Restaurants have told us how unfair review systems can be on other big takeaway sites. Our fairer system puts the best food first.”
More than 500 restaurants and takeaways are signed up to the website, which has received 25,000 ratings from diners.
To launch the site, £10 million has been invested on marketing. Each user receives £5 off his or her first order placed via the website using a given code. A monthly photo competition is also in place offering consumers £30 for the best photos.
Central Dish is available free to all takeaways and restaurants, and the service is being promoted through social media.
