A virtual trade show held by Dee Bee Wholesale in place of its usual annual trade exhibition has smashed the usual value of orders placed.
The virtual event, which ran on 1-7 June, achieved orders of nearly £1 million.
Andy Morrison, trading director for the Unitas member, said: “We are absolutely thrilled it has been such a success. As soon as the pandemic started we had to think how we could offer our trade exhibition online. This has been achieved with the support from our fantastic team at Grimsby and Hull as well as our wonderful suppliers.
“Our trade show has been running for many years and is a key date in many of our customers’ and suppliers’ diaries so it was essential that we find a technological solution to hosting it. The response has been absolutely unprecedented, with many of our customers visiting the site to take advantage of our exceptional deals, and we have sold 50,000 cases. We are already considering options for future dates and have really set ourselves a challenge to do better than this!”
