Cash & Carry Management, in partnership with the Craft Guild of Chefs, has announced the winners of the 2019 CCM Chefs’ Own-Brand Awards at a prestigious lunch at Westminster Kingsway College, London.
Guests at the event enjoyed a three-course lunch expertly prepared by chefs of the future and served by waiting staff – all in training at the college.
The judging panel consisted of Andrew Green, chief executive of the Craft Guild of Chefs – the leading chefs’ association in the UK; Matt Owens, national vice chairman of the Craft Guild of Chefs; and Jason Gordon, general manager at Compass Group.
The judging was conducted in blind tastings over two days and was intense, with several of the own-brand products deemed so good that they were awarded a ‘Best of the Best’ accolade.
Martin Lovell, managing director of Cash & Carry Management (pictured right), commented: “This is the second year of the scheme and we are delighted that more companies and products entered. We are all striving for high standards and all of you in this room today should be very proud of the quality of your products.
“A special feature of these awards is that we will be providing feedback on each and every product entered. By doing so, we hope to raise the bar even further in terms of own-brand development for the benefit of wholesalers, their customers and consumers alike.”
