KFF installs Progress Pride pedestrian crossing at Aylesford HQ
Regional wholesaler kff (Kent Frozen Foods) has decided to create a permanent reminder of the importance of recognising and embracing diversity, with a ‘Progress Pride’ pedestrian crossing at its Aylesford headquarters.
As part of Sysco GB, kff ran events throughout the Pride month of June to help drive long-term understanding of the issues and needs of the LGBTQ+ community, but felt that a more permanent reminder was required. It therefore installed the crossing and also introduced an on-demand training course to help line managers better understand the specific needs of LGBTQ+ colleagues.
Margaret Gooch, Sysco GB HR director, said: “We are committed to inclusion, and at the heart of that is fostering a culture of belonging where everyone feels valued and respected, and ideas and perspectives are brought to a table where everyone has a seat.
“Having a diverse and engaged workforce is incredibly important part of this across all of Sysco’s operating companies in Great Britain, and we recognise that we need to show support across the entire year.
“We are very pleased to be launching new initiatives, including training and development opportunities, as well as very visual examples like our new kff crossing, that will make a lasting contribution to how diversity is viewed within Sysco GB.”
