Filshill appoints Arwel Carter as regional development manager

JW Filshill has strengthened its KeyStore business support team in the north of England with the appointment of Arwel Carter as regional development manager.

Carter (pictured) previously spent nearly nine years with McCurrach, most recently as a key account manager.

In his new role, he reports to Graham Cairns, who is promoted to sales & business development manager for the north of England. Cairns, in turn, replaces Jeanette Gordon, who has left Filshill to support her husband with his training business.

Craig Brown, Filshill’s chief sales & marketing officer, said: “Under the leadership of Jeanette Gordon and Graham Cairns, we have built strong momentum for the KeyStore brand in the north of England and we want to build on that as more retailers choose KeyStore as the best solution for achieving increased profit and margin.

“Arwel will now work with Graham to stimulate growth and increase profitability in a competitive convenience marketplace that continues to evolve and throw up challenges, while helping them retain the flexibility to run their stores the way they want to while offering a point of difference over their competitors.

“His knowledge of the territory will be invaluable and his involvement with a local football club shows that he share’s the strong sense of community that both Filshill and KeyStore adhere to.”

Filshill saw turnover increase to £200 million – up 4.4% from £191 million – in the year ending 31 January 2022. The company will move to its new distribution centre near Glasgow Airport in the first quarter of 2023.
