Tanvir Moughal, who has been with Glasgow-based United Wholesale (Scotland) for almost 20 years, and is currently general manager of the Maxwell Road cash & carry, will shortly switch roles to become operations manager for the whole company.

The company’s main cash & carry and head office is based at Queenslie.

It also operates from Falkirk as United M9, a business which it bought last year and where Moughal was general manager for five months. A 65,000 sq ft depot in Newbridge, Edinburgh, has been under development for a couple of years and is expected to open later this year.

United Wholesale Scotland’s turnover in 2014 was £222 million and pre-tax profit just over £2 million.
